Bad rumors about the proposed new Star Trek film…

Amidst the latest Star Trek rumour — that Ben Affleck might play Captain Kirk — producer J.J. Abrams discussed his other projects, including the soon-to-open third Mission: Impossible film and his smash TV hits Lost and Alias.

Let’s be very clear about this. If Ben Affleck is involved in any way, especially if he plays Kirk, I will not watch this movie…..

    And we wonder why we haven’t seen any more Tom Clancy “Jack Ryan” stories made into movies. Ben Afleck is death to a franchise. Not that it would hurt Treck much. If Trek were a red-shirt, McCoy would say, “He’s dead, Jim.”

    It wasn’t Ben Affleck who would play Kirk. It was possibly going to be Matt Damon. That makes a little more sense, and I think he would really be able to deliver the part. If this is true, I will go see it.

    Sorry Michele. Before it was Matt Damon, the rumor was Ben Affleck. Personally I don’t see either in the role.

    If I were casting, I would pick an unknown. If the studio insisted on someone known, I would pick Christian Bale.

    Matt Damon wud be good as kirk but affleck how bout him as Spock???? u know the emotionless Vulcan type??
