And, bye 'eck, that's coming from a northerner too. Let me explain why I liked him so much as a doctor, and it's also part of the joke in this sketch; all the doctor's thus far have been quite clearly from southern England; as a northerner (we're continually the butt of jokes from cockneys and southerners) it was quite cool to see (and hear) a more familiar accent. His manicness was quite appealing in the character, and I really thought it was good that he gave up after one season, made it all the more memorable and the brief term he had makes it easy to go back and enjoy the old episodes.
