He shoulda got nothin’ for Christmas
The Smoking Gun has a story about some mom that called the cops when her boy opened a present early.
A South Carolina boy, 12, was arrested Sunday morning after his mother called police to report that he had unwrapped a Christmas present without her permission. According to a Rock Hill Police Department report (a copy of which you’ll find below), the child opened a Nintendo Game Boy, though he had been directed not to by family members.
Now at this point it sounds a little silly to me. But when you think back on it, you have think the boy has a problem with obeying adults right? Well, those suspicions get confirmed.
the boy’s mother, a 27-year-old single parent, described her son as a disruptive child
HM…If he was a disruptive child, then why did she get him such a nice Christmas present? No wonder he acts out like that if his mother buys him a game boy as a reward for acting out all year. We need to realize that bad behavior needs to be punished, not rewarded. I also don’t think that a Christmas gift should be a “right” for a child so much as a “privilege”. A nice gift should be given to a child as a reward for a year of good behavior, good grades and doing their chores. Hearing this mom describe her own child, makes me think that maybe she should have gotten him a bag of switches, a box of coal or maybe a Zune. Click play below if you disagree.
